When is the race?
Trieste 21K 2026 takes place on Sunday, May 3, 2026.
Start time: 10:00 AM.
Where does it start and where does it finish?
The race starts in Sistiana and finishes in Piazza Unità d’Italia in the heart of Trieste.
The course follows the Strada Costiera, passes Castello di Miramare, runs along the Barcola seafront, and finishes through Trieste’s most iconic landmarks.
What’s the distance?
The official distance is 21.097 km (13.1 miles), FIDAL-certified.
What’s the time limit?
The maximum time to finish is 3 hours.
Who can participate?
You can enter if you are:

A FIDAL-registered athlete (2026)
-
A Runcard holder (with a valid competitive medical certificate for athletics)
-
A foreign athlete registered with a World Athletics–recognized federation
-
Touristic race option (non-competitive): foreign athletes can join without a medical certificate, with no final ranking
Minimum age: 18 years old within the year of the event.
Do I need a medical certificate?
Yes, a valid competitive medical certificate for athletics is mandatory.
Exception: foreign athletes joining the touristic (non-competitive) race can participate without a medical certificate, with no final ranking.
How do I register?
Registration is online on the official event website.
Entry fees increase as the race approaches:

€45 — Apr 16 to Apr 29, 2026 (online)

€50 — Apr 30 to May 2, 2026 (at the Marathon Center)

If you’re traveling from outside the province, you can request race-morning bib pickup (race pack at the finish) by emailing info@triestespringrun.com by April 25, 2026.
Can I transfer my entry to another runner?
Yes:

Free transfer until April 15, 2026

€5 transfer fee from April 16 to May 2, 2026
After that, no changes are allowed.
Are there prizes?
Yes. There are awards for overall top finishers and age-group winners, as detailed in the official race rules.

The central train station is just a few steps from Piazza Unità d’Italia, the heart of Trieste and the Trieste Spring Run.
From here you can walk to the city center or take our shuttle services that will bring you to the start areas (Miramare for the Bavisela Family Run and Duino for the Trieste 21K).

There are several connections between Trieste Airport and the city of Trieste. From the airport you can walk to the adjacent railway station and take the train to Trieste Centrale.
I collegamenti tra Trieste Airport e la città di Trieste sono molteplici: dall’aeroporto è possibile recarsi alla stazione dei treni adiacente, raggiungibile a piedi, e prendere il treno in direzione Trieste Centrale.
